The purpose of this study is to identify the welfare perceptions and influential factors on basic pension, youth dividend, free school meal, and free childcare policy which are the most controversial representative social welfare policies in Korean society. For the analysis, we used data on public awareness about social welfare system, the results of the analysis are as follows. Women showed a negative perception of welfare expansion than men and showed a tendency to be more conservative as the age increased. They wanted to expand welfare policies when they had lower education levels than those with higher education, and when they had experience in receiving the system. In this study, we can confirm that welfare status theory has a high explanatory power in explaining welfare perception centered on specific system. In addition, it is meaningful that there is a difference in the degree of welfare perception and influential factors when welfare perception, which was previously integrated, was subdivided into specific systems. Based on the results of this study, this study suggests to deeply investigate the cause and phenomenon that reveal the gap of welfare perception by system.
